No Problem, Mon!

Happy New Year! I hope your new year is off to a great start. I personally have had a good start to the new year, last week I was able to go to Jamaica. I celebrated my mom’s birthday there with some family and  friends. It was a grande experience. The trip was off to a rocky start when we had several flight delays. We originally were to arrive in Montego Bay around 1 pm, however, we didn’t arrive until around 7 pm. It was a long day. But throughout the day, I kept thinking he’s working all things out for our good.

After our arrival, on the trip to our villa, our driver shared different things about Jamaica and its culture. One thing he shared was that in Jamaica they have no problem, just situations. Lol. Those words resonated with me throughout the course of the trip, no worries! The last day of the trip, I was thinking, I hadn’t heard anything from God throughout the trip. How can you have such a wonderful experience and not hear from God. He usually will reveal something to me or give me food for thought, but I felt nothing. The last day, as we were preparing to leave, we had some time of meditation and I began to think of the many obstacles or barriers 😆 we had getting to Jamaica, but once we got there, there were no worries 😉. Then I was reminded of the scripture that I kept reminding myself of as we faced the many delays, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬. While we had several delays going to Jamaica and it became very frustrating, we missed nothing. Our experience wasn’t messed up, we just had to restructure some things. He still worked it all out for us having an amazing trip with some wonderful experiences. And we lost nothing! After our arrival, I didn’t feel as though I missed anything. In fact, I actually gained, I was able to meet other people, get a free meal and some free snacks, and I saw my cousin at the airport during my delay. Again, nothing was lost, however there were some gains. And I still had one of the best times and experiences throughout my trip.

Let this be your reminder, that God is working things out for your good, even when you can’t see it in the physical, you have to know and trust, that he’s working it out for your good. And, you will not miss out on anything, even in your delay. You will only gain. God will continue to add to you. So, no worries!

As we go into this new year, keep this at your forefront, No Problem, Mon (in my Jamaican voice)! God has gone ahead of you and worked all things out for your good. Don’t worry, don’t stress, God’s got you. Trust him and not what you see, after all that’s what faith is all about, right?

  • Bridgette,I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Although we had a slightly rocky start, it is only confirmation that God did have us. We were delayed but never denied. Thank you you.
