Just Go: You have Strength Within!
Last week (or week before last đ), I took a trip with my family to Alaska. Alaska was never a place on my bucket list, but when the opportunity presented itself, I said, âwhy not.â Never forget to experience the beauty of life in different ways including seeing the world and experiencing new things. If you ever have an opportunity to try a different place, in the words of Nike, âJust do it.â
Anywho, the purpose of the trip was for a race. My cousin is doing 50 half marathons before she turns 50. Alaska was marathon #45, whoop whoop! I went to be a support, but after she was going and my other family also decided to do the race, I thought, I might as well. So I reluctantly (đ) signed up for the 5 miler (I wasnât going to do a half marathon now đ). My norm is a 5K, so I figured it was doing better right! Lol.
My trip to Alaska was absolutely wonderful. The views of the mountains were breathtaking and surreal. The fact that it was day for 18+ hours was different lol. Needless to say, Iâm grateful for the experience. Last year, I struggled with if I would be ready to travel this year, but when this opportunity presented itself, I thought, just go!! I believe thatâs a message for someone, just go! Donât question, donât make up excuses, just go.
The night before the race I got sick. The morning of the race I went back and forth if I should do the race or not, I was weak and still not feeling my best, but I decided to press on and just go! I was able to finish the race (that was literally my goal, just to finish, the time or how well I did didnât matter). After completing the race, I thought to myself, thereâs a strength within that is bigger than me. I wanted to remind you that the strength that kept me during the race, is on the inside of you. God is indeed our strength. He will help you overcome, and break barriers even when you donât think you can. I literally prayed the entire race, asking God to keep me and he did. He will keep you too. Never forget the strength that you have on the inside of you. âThe Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.â Psalms⏠â28:7⏠âNLTâŹâŹ
The song that comes to mind when I think of God being my strength is a song by William Murphy, âYou are my Strength.â Let this song encourage you. God is your strength!
